Who we are
UNMASK is an independent citizen-led petition run by Desmond Lee. Contact us at unmask.cleanair@gmail.com.
genovate.biz provides free hosting for this website as a neutral technology provider. genovate.biz does not run the campaign or receive your signature data.
What we collect
- Your name, email address and country.
- Your optional answers: products you have bought, your message to the CEOs, and your choices about updates and the public wall.
- The time you signed. We also create a Supporter ID and a SHA-256 hash of your entry.
How we use it
- To count your signature straight away, and to verify your email address afterwards. We send you one verification email, some time after you sign. We send them in batches, so it can take a few days.
- To stop the same email address signing twice: when you press the sign button, the site asks our server whether the address is already on the list. Nothing is stored by that check.
- If you use the contact form, to read and reply to your message. Contact messages are forwarded to unmask.cleanair@gmail.com.
- To report totals to Unilever, Nestlé, Mondelēz, Procter & Gamble and Kraft Heinz. We send them your name as you chose it for the signature wall (given name only by default), your country, the date, your verification status and your hash. We never send them your email address.
- We may quote your message in a letter, with your initials and country only.
- To show your name and country on the public signature wall, in the form you chose: given name only (the default), full name or initials.
- To send you campaign updates, only if you ticked that box. Every update has an unsubscribe link.
Where it is stored
Your data is stored in Google Forms, Google Sheets and Google Drive, operated by Google LLC, and may be processed outside your country. To send your verification email, your email address is passed to Brevo, our email delivery service. If you opt in to updates, your address may also be stored there.
How long we keep it
We keep your data until 12 months after the campaign ends, and then delete it.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or withdraw consent, at any time. Email unmask.cleanair@gmail.com. If you withdraw, we mark your signature as removed and stop counting it. Letters that were already sent cannot be recalled.
